It’s been awhile since I last posted and to be honest it’s been a whirlwind. Between racing, practicing, and teaching lessons at MX101. With Gopher Dunes National fast approaching, which will be my first round, its crunch time for me. In this installment of Duffy’s World, I will bring you up to date with where I’m at heading into round 5 of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals. To be really honest, I have had quite an eye opener so far this season! I really had not been putting in the work on and off the bike. I have a plan now, and 6 more weeks to go to make it happen. Make sure you follow my results to see how I am doing with “The Program”! In the past month, I have done quite a bit of racing. I did the ANQ at Motopark in the pro class and went 7-6. I showed pretty good speed and lap times. The weekend after I did the Motopark cup, which is one of my favourite events of the year. It is put on by my good friends Mikey Walker and Iain Hayden. This event went a little better with 9-8 Saturday and 10-8 Sunday in a very stacked pro field. The following week we had a Photo-shoot for the MX101 team and I got to meet the newest addition to the team, Jesse Wentland. I also got to see the man at FOX, Jay Moore, who I have known since I first started racing. It was a super fun day with the fellas joking and laughing and James Lissimore getting some sick shots. The following weekend we did the first MX101 IronMan race of the year, and it was easily the best performance for me so far this year. I took a huge Digger in the first Moto and bent my front end quite badly so I just rode around to a 9th place finish. Second moto went much better I got a good start and finished up 5th behind 4 national contenders; . On Sunday, Benoit, Wright, Wentland, and Robinson had left to get ready for Nanaimo, and I had a pretty good day making hay and went 1-3 for 2nd overall. As I am writing this Nanaimo is just wrapping up so I just want to give a big shout out to the entire MX101 Yamaha team; they did a great job. I have been bugging the team mechanics for details while they are out west cause I really wish I was out there. Until next time good luck to the team in the Loops!
